They go together like coffee + croissants, or wine + cheese! Does being in France inspire you to paint? Or are painters inspired to go to France? Peu importe - the results are magnifique!
How lucky are we in the Twin Cities (Minneapolis/St. Paul) to have some of these prestigious artists among us? Venezuelan-born artist Richard Merchan attended the Minneapolis College of Art + Design, and currently divides his time between Minnesota and California. (I'll let you guess which seasons he is in which place!) His new body of work reflects his recent travels from Paris to Provence. He captures the essence of iconic sites in Paris, as well as the joie de vivre of everyday life in France.
Richard traveled throughout Provence, from Avignon to Arles, and Saint-Remy-de-Provence to Nice, capturing idyllic images along the way.
Thanks to The Art Girls Minneapolis (Kelly Netishen and Hollie Blanchard), we can enjoy a little slice of France at home! This exhibition will be on display at The Gallery Le Meridien Chambers Minneapolis from June 27 through September 27, 2019.
